Projects Abroad
July 2006 - December 2019
Projects Abroad is one of the largest international organizations, with presence in 25+ countries around the world,
that offers volunteer and internship programs abroad; for students, undergraduates, career breakers and retirees,
as well as tailor made group trips.
PARTNERSHIPS DIRECTOR (2018-2019)
In charge of developing partnerships and relationships between Projects Abroad and the main Latin American
markets we were focusing on: Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
▪ Helped grow brand awareness in markets where Projects Abroad was unknown
▪ Created partnerships with Consultancy Company in Colombia (ISC Group, in Bogota)
▪ Started building a relationship with ITESO University, in Guadalajara, Mexico
▪ Signed MOUs with 5+ Agencies (travel and student advisor) in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.
DIRECTOR OF PROJECTS ABROAD LATIN AMERICA (2010-2019)
Started the Latin America branch, first as a Program Advisor and then as the Director. Worked from bottom up,
translating the whole website to introduce us to our target market. Worked with inbound leads mainly, and
developed the sales strategy and brand awareness campaigns within the company’s structure.
▪ Increased the sales numbers for the company by bringing in new leads from a skeptical and yet untouched
market. From 0-1 leads in one year, to more than 30-50 per year, increasing each year.
▪ Worked developing relationships with different schools and agencies to help grow the market for a few
countries.
▪ Travelled to Argentina, Chile and Colombia to help build relationships and speak to students, teachers and
directors about Projects Abroad.
▪ Developed a new website together with a Content Creator to gear our message towards our target markets.
▪ Conducted Risk Management Assessments for a corporate group trip to Cuzco, Peru; and assisted with groups
trips to Accra, Ghana.
*Prior to these two roles, I worked in different capacities and wearing different hats --sometimes simultaneously. I started from an entry level in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and grew to work there for 14 years.
