Develop and maintain Rails backend services on a Kafka, RabbitMQ, and MySQL platform serving 200,000+ active customers, integrating third-party APIs (including Verizon) for subscriptions, devices, and billing, with automated processes scheduled as cron jobs (crontab). Mapped a 14-year-old undocumented platform with no prior guidance, then diagnosed problems and defined technical solutions for new requirements. Migrated a service’s frontend from a legacy DoneJS app to Rails 8 Hotwire (Turbo/Stimulus), built and configured for deployment via Kamal. Member of the incident team, handling high-priority production issues. On a 6-person team, dockerized 19 microservices and migrated them from physical servers to OpenStack via Kamal, cutting deploy time from about 3 hours to 4 minutes with no maintenance window.

Built and maintained a real-time Brazilian election-results tracking website, and extended the legacy codebase of a major online journal. Led and mentored junior developers through regular code review.

Shipped new features and performance improvements across a Ruby on Rails e-commerce monolith as it grew. Built a Delivery Radius service (Next.js, MongoDB, Google APIs) where merchants draw delivery zones on a map with weight limits and per-region pricing, storing location data in MongoDB as GeoJSON. Implemented a loyalty-points program and bulk-discount feature in the core Rails app, fully test-driven with RSpec, and built a Shopify integration importing shops (products, categories, images) in a few clicks. Built a React/Next.js and MongoDB app letting support customize onboarding forms per merchant segment without redeployment, cutting merchant setup from 1-2 days to a 10-minute self-setup.

Migrated legacy systems to a modern microservices architecture, and delivered “Jornada Assistida” for car sales and delivery.

Wrote MongoDB aggregation pipelines over large data volumes for reporting, using MongoDB as an auxiliary database alongside the main relational store. Built and operated a scheduled Sidekiq and MongoDB reporting pipeline for companies in 5 countries: 16 runs a day, each reading 2M+ records from XML, normalizing, persisting, and exporting CSV/XLSX; personally owned all retry and failure handling. Migrated legacy synchronous code to Sidekiq jobs and MongoDB, improving performance by up to 95%. Refactored API endpoints for efficiency and maintainability, and managed Linux production and staging environments.
